01 The calculator

See exactly what you keep.

Type in a ticket price and how many you expect to sell. Pick how you handle the 25p platform fee. Add a custom buyer-side fee if you want to cover Stripe too. The numbers update as you go.

Platform fee model (25p per ticket)
Buyer pays £0.00
Platform fee per ticket25p
Stripe fee per ticket£0.00
Total fees per ticket£0.00
You keep per ticket £0.00
Across the run £0.00

Stripe figures shown are based on UK domestic card rates (1.5% + 20p). International cards, AMEX and some other payment methods cost more. See Stripe's current rates for full detail.

Figures shown inclusive of VAT. UK VAT-registered organisers can see the ex-VAT breakdown on their Ticket Monkey invoice. Calculator is illustrative; final settlement comes through Stripe.

02 Beyond the ticket

Beyond the ticket.

Aerial view of an open-air concert at Powderham, sweeping crowd and stage.

Ticket protection.

Buyers opt in to cover their ticket if things change: illness, train strikes, the things that used to land in your inbox at 9am on the day of the show. You take a share of the protection fee. The awkward refund conversation belongs to someone else.

Lakeside view at a food festival, families and visitors on the grass.

Carbon offset.

Buyers add a verified offset to their order, covering the event's travel and operational footprint. Contributions go to credible projects, not vague promises. Your event gets the clean-conscience headline without administering any of it.

Also in the basket.

Merch.

T-shirts, programmes, hospitality bundles, sold alongside the ticket. One transaction, one checkout, one report.

Charitable contributions.

Let buyers round up or add a fixed donation to a cause you support. The donation goes where it's meant to go.

Venue levies.

Where a local authority or licence condition requires a per-ticket levy, we collect it at checkout and report it cleanly. No spreadsheets, no manual reconciliations.

in one place.

03 How the money moves

How the money moves.

A

How we collect our 25p.

Your account is connected to Stripe. When a buyer pays, our 25p comes off automatically before the rest settles to you. You don't invoice us, we don't invoice you. What lands in your Stripe balance is what the calculator showed you.

B

Stripe's processing fee.

Stripe charges its own per-transaction fee. The 1.5% + 20p figure across this page is Stripe's UK domestic card rate. International cards, AMEX and some other payment methods cost more. We don't take a cut of any of it. It goes straight to Stripe.

C

Refunds.

You're the merchant of record, so refunds are your call to make and your money to send. Our 25p is non-refundable. Once a ticket has sold, we've earned it. Two ways to handle a refund: refund the face value minus the 25p (you're not out of pocket, most organisers do this), or refund the full face value and absorb the 25p yourself. Both are configurable per event.

Full terms: Event Organiser Terms, and our Purchase Policy for the direct-payout and funds-held models.

04 Common questions

Common questions on price.

Will the price ever change?

Maybe, but not for you. If pricing changes, existing accounts keep the plan and rate they signed up on. Changes only ever apply to new sign-ups.

Is there a separate rate for charities?

No. Charities, school PTAs, community groups and commercial events all pay the same 25p flat rate. No application form, no special tier. Most charities pay less with us than they'd pay anywhere else, even at competitors' discounted charity rates.

What counts as a free event?

Any event where the ticket face value is £0 to the buyer. The first 500 free tickets per event and 2,500 per year cost nothing. Beyond either cap, the standard 25p rate applies. One catch: using the free tier to reserve places and then collect payment at the gate isn't allowed. Accounts doing it will be revoked.

Can I pass the platform fee on to the buyer?

Yes. Absorb it, pass it on, or set custom fees that cover Stripe and anything else you want to bake in. The calculator above shows what each option looks like.

Do I have to commit to a contract?

No. No monthly fees, no contracts, no minimum volumes. Pay 25p per ticket sold. That's it.

How do I get paid?

Through your own Stripe account, connected to Ticket Monkey at setup. Funds settle as Stripe normally settles them, typically within a few working days of each sale, not after the event.

Do I earn from ticket protection?

Yes. Buyers opt in to cover their ticket at checkout: illness, train strikes, the things life throws at people. You take 10% of every protection fee sold, paid out alongside your ticket revenue. The cover itself is run by our protection partner. Your only job is to leave the toggle on.

How do refunds work?

You're the merchant of record, so refunds are your call. Our 25p is non-refundable. Once a ticket has sold, we've earned it. When you refund a buyer, you choose whether to refund the face value minus the 25p (you're not out of pocket) or refund the full amount and absorb the 25p yourself. Both are configurable per event.

What about VAT?

Our 25p includes VAT. Most ticketing platforms show their fees excluding VAT. The headline rate you see elsewhere usually isn't the rate you actually pay. We show the all-in number. UK VAT-registered organisers see the ex-VAT breakdown on their Ticket Monkey invoice for their records. The calculator above shows figures inclusive of VAT.

What about international cards or AMEX?

Stripe's fee varies by card type. The 1.5% + 20p figure shown is Stripe's UK domestic card rate. International cards, AMEX and some other payment methods cost more. Stripe's full published rates apply at point of transaction. Our 25p stays the same regardless of card type.

The maths checks out.
Want to give it a go?

Three minutes to set up. No card required. No contract to sign. If we're not the right fit, close the tab and we'll never know.
