Pricing

What does Ticket Monkey cost?

Core is 25p per ticket sold. Flat. Includes VAT. No contracts, no monthly fees, no setup fees, no minimum volumes. Pro (the power tools) is 60p per ticket, but right now, every new account gets Pro features at the Core 25p price under our Ticket Monkey 2.0 launch offer. Managed is a custom percentage; talk to us. The price you see is the price you pay.

Will the price ever change?

Maybe, but not for you. If pricing changes, existing accounts keep the plan and rate they signed up on. Changes only ever apply to new sign-ups.

Is there a separate rate for charities?

No. Charities, school PTAs, community groups and commercial events all pay the same rate as everyone else on their plan, no application form, no special tier. On Core that's the flat 25p. Most charities pay less with us than they'd pay anywhere else, even at competitors' discounted charity rates.

Can I pass the platform fee on to the buyer?

Yes. Absorb it, pass it on, or set custom fees that cover Stripe and anything else you want to bake in. The calculator on the pricing page shows what each option looks like.

What about Stripe processing fees?

Stripe charges its own fee per transaction. The 1.5% + 20p figure shown across the site is Stripe's UK domestic card rate. International cards, AMEX and some other payment methods cost more. We don't take a cut of any of it. It goes straight to Stripe.

Are there any contracts or minimums?

No. Pay per ticket sold, cancel any time, no commitment.

How do refunds work?

You're the merchant of record, so refunds are your call. Our 25p is non-refundable. Once a ticket has sold, we've earned it. When you refund a buyer, you choose whether to refund the face value minus the 25p (you're not out of pocket) or refund the full amount and absorb the 25p yourself. Both are configurable per event. See our Purchase Policy for the full terms.

What about VAT?

Our 25p includes VAT. Most ticketing platforms show their fees excluding VAT. The headline rate you see elsewhere usually isn't the rate you actually pay. We show the all-in number. UK VAT-registered organisers see the ex-VAT breakdown on their Ticket Monkey invoice for their records.

What about international cards or AMEX?

Stripe's fee varies by card type. The 1.5% + 20p figure shown is Stripe's UK domestic card rate. International cards, AMEX and some other payment methods cost more. Stripe's full published rates apply at point of transaction. Our 25p stays the same regardless of card type.

Plans

What's the difference between Core and Pro?

Core is the complete toolkit at 25p a ticket. Pro adds the power tools: payment plans, tiered releases, advanced reporting, bigger door teams, integrations. Right now, every new account gets Pro features at the Core price.

What's the launch offer?

To mark the launch of Ticket Monkey 2.0, sign up now and you get Pro features at 25p a ticket. When standard pricing (60p for Pro) kicks in, your account stays on the terms you joined on.

Will I lose features when the launch offer ends?

No. Existing accounts keep the plan and rate they signed up on. Changes only apply to new sign-ups.

What's Managed?

Full-service: our team runs ticketing with you. Gates, box office, on-site customer service, the lot. See Managed →

What's an authorised agent?

We sell face-value allocations for rights-holders alongside their primary seller, with real marketing behind them. See Authorised agent →

Product

What kind of events can I sell tickets for?

Music gigs, festivals, comedy, theatre, conferences, workshops, classes, charity galas, fundraisers, sportives, attractions, anything with a date, a venue and a ticket. If it's a paid or free event in the UK, Ticket Monkey works.

How is Ticket Monkey different from other platforms?

Three things you can't get elsewhere: built-in payment plans for buyers, a branded customer app with push notifications you can use as a re-marketing channel, and AI agent control of your box office through Claude or ChatGPT. Plus we're built by people who've actually worked inside live events.

Is there a free trial?

Setting up an account is free. You only pay when you sell tickets. So in practice, yes, set it up, design your event, take it for a spin.

Can I customise the checkout?

Yes. Branding, colours, custom fields, add-ons, terms, contact details. The buyer experience reads as yours, not ours.

How does inventory management work?

Tiered pricing, capped releases, early-bird windows, multi-event linking for festivals and tour runs, time-slot booking for attractions, granular headcount logic for camping, dietary, age groups and accessibility.

Can I integrate with other tools?

Thousands of apps, through Zapier, plus a growing list of native, first-party integrations we build and maintain ourselves: Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Sendy and Brevo for email, Xero for accounting, with more landing all the time. Stripe is built in, AI agent control works with Claude, ChatGPT and any MCP-compatible agent, and everything exports to CSV. Missing one you need? Tell us and we'll get it on the list.

Do you support the Access Card / Nimbus Card?

Yes, natively. Fans with an Access Card or Nimbus Card get their personal assistant and companion tickets validated automatically at checkout against the card's verified requirements. No doctor's letters in your inbox, no documents to store, and your PA policy runs itself. A Pro feature, included for everyone under the Ticket Monkey 2.0 launch offer.

What are Marketing Markers?

Markers you drop on your sales graph for the moments that matter: campaigns, announcements, press, price changes. Email sends get marked automatically through the native Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Sendy and Brevo integrations, so when sales spike you can see exactly what caused it. A Pro feature, included for everyone under the Ticket Monkey 2.0 launch offer.

Can I sell on the door / run a box office?

Yes. The box office till runs on any device at the gate or in the venue: tickets, add-ons, merch and bar products in one basket, cash or card, and it all lands in the same reporting as your online sales. A Pro feature, included for everyone under the Ticket Monkey 2.0 launch offer.

Do you support reserved seating / seat maps?

Yes. Pick-your-seat maps are built in on Pro: buyers choose their exact seat on a visual plan of your venue, and the map keeps itself in sync as the room fills. Complex or unusual layouts (tiered stands, boxes, multi-room venues) are handled as bespoke plans on Managed. A Pro feature, included for everyone under the Ticket Monkey 2.0 launch offer.

Payment plans

How do payment plans work?

Buyers see the option at checkout if you've enabled it for the event or ticket type. They pick the plan, pay the first instalment up front, and the rest comes off automatically on the schedule. They see exactly what they'll be charged and when before they commit.

Who bears the risk if a buyer misses an instalment?

Stripe handles failed-payment retries automatically. After a configurable grace period, the ticket is voided and the seat returns to inventory. Funds already paid are handled per your refund policy. We'll walk through the policy options with you in onboarding.

Can I configure plans per event or ticket type?

Yes. You decide which events allow instalments, which ticket types qualify, the number of instalments, and the schedule. Different rules per event are fine.

Is there a minimum or maximum ticket price?

Plans work best on tickets above ~£100, at lower price points the maths doesn't really help the buyer. There's no hard minimum or maximum we set, but we'll suggest sensible defaults in onboarding.

Customer app

Is the customer app branded as me or as Ticket Monkey?

Tickets and event detail pages are branded to the organiser. The container is Ticket Monkey but the experience inside is yours, colours, logo, event imagery.

How do push notifications work?

Once a buyer has the app, you can push them notifications about new on-sales, last-minute drops, upgrades and post-event content. Segments by event, ticket type and attendance history. Open and click metrics flow into your dashboard.

What about non-app users, do they still get tickets?

Yes. Tickets are also delivered by email and added to Apple Wallet / Google Wallet. The app is the richer experience but nobody's locked out by not having it.

Are the push notifications free or do they cost extra?

Free. Use them as much as your audience tolerates.

AI agent control

What is the Ticket Monkey MCP?

MCP is the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI agents like Claude or ChatGPT to external tools and data. The Ticket Monkey MCP lets those agents work with your account: pull data, make changes, send notifications, set up events, all in plain English.

What can I actually do with it?

Examples: "How many tickets did we sell yesterday?" / "Send a push to season ticket holders about the new Friday drop." / "Set up a 500-cap event for 14 June with three price tiers and a £20 early bird." / "Pull a list of attendees who haven't picked up their tickets and send them a reminder." The agent reads, writes and acts.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You connect the MCP to your AI agent once, there's a step-by-step guide. After that, everything is conversation.

Which AI agents does it work with?

Claude, ChatGPT, and any MCP-compatible agent. The list of compatible agents is growing fast.

Is my data safe?

Yes. You control the permission scope when you connect, read-only or read-write, and you can revoke access at any time. The agent only sees what you let it see.

Twickets resale

What is Twickets?

The UK's leading face-value resale platform. Twickets exists so ticket holders who can't attend an event can pass their tickets on at face value to fans who can, without going through a touting marketplace, and without breaking the new UK resale rules.

How does the partnership work?

Buyers who can't attend an event ticketed through Ticket Monkey have a built-in route to list their ticket on Twickets at face value. The transfer is handled automatically. The original buyer gets their money back, the new buyer gets a real ticket, and you don't get the awkward refund email.

What if a buyer wants a refund instead?

Refunds are still your call, set by your event-specific policy. Twickets is an alternative for buyers who'd rather pass the ticket on than wait for a refund decision.

Beyond the ticket

Do I earn from ticket protection?

Yes. Buyers opt in to cover their ticket at checkout: illness, train strikes, the things life throws at people. You take 10% of every protection fee sold, paid out alongside your ticket revenue. The cover itself is run by our protection partner. Your only job is to leave the toggle on.

How does carbon offset work?

Buyers add a verified offset to their order at checkout, covering the event's travel and operational footprint. Contributions go to credible projects via our offset partner, not vague promises. You don't administer any of it.

Can I sell merch alongside tickets?

Yes. T-shirts, programmes, hospitality bundles, anything you want to bundle with the ticket. One transaction, one checkout, one report.

What's a venue levy and how do you handle it?

Some UK venues are required by their planning permission or licence conditions to add a per-ticket levy on every sale. We support it natively at checkout. The levy is collected with the ticket price and reported cleanly in your settlement. No spreadsheets, no manual reconciliations.

Can buyers add a donation at checkout?

Yes. Turn on charitable contributions and let buyers round up or add a fixed donation to a cause you support. The donation goes where it's meant to go.

Free events

What counts as a free event?

Any event where the ticket face value is £0 to the buyer. Free entry, RSVP-style events, community gatherings, school plays.

What's the cap?

Free up to 500 free tickets per event, and 2,500 free tickets per year per organiser. Beyond either cap, the standard 25p rate applies. One catch: using the free tier to reserve places and then collect payment at the gate isn't allowed. Accounts doing it will be revoked.

Can I mix free and paid events on the same account?

Yes. The free-events cap counts only the free tickets. Paid tickets are charged at the standard rate as normal.

Account & getting started

How do I sign up?

Sign up form, email verification, set up your first event. Three minutes if you've got your event details to hand.

How do I get paid?

Through your own Stripe account. Funds settle as Stripe normally settles them, typically within a few working days of each sale, not after the event.

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes. We'll walk you through connecting one if you don't have it. Stripe sign-up is free and quick.

What if I'm not in the UK?

Today, Ticket Monkey is built for UK organisers and UK events. Outside the UK, talk to us, we'll let you know what's possible.

Can I move from another platform?

Yes. We can help with data migration, past attendees, ticket types, event setup. Talk to us about what you've currently got and what you want to bring across.

How do I close my account?

From your dashboard, with no penalty. Existing events finish out as normal; we just stop processing new tickets after closure.

Support

How do I get help?

Email [email protected] or use the chat widget on this site. UK-based real humans on the other end. No bots, no offshore helpdesk.

What are your support hours?

Standard UK working hours, with extended cover around major event dates. Average reply is under an hour during office hours, one working day at the very worst. If you're trying to get a major event live and the clock is ticking, mention that, we'll prioritise.
