The fee comparison
Every platform
says they're
cheap.
So we did the maths on all of them, from their own published pricing, like for like. Here's what a ticket actually costs, platform by platform.

No catch
Cheaper than the cheap ones.
Better than the good ones.
Best platform. The lowest published standard fee of any UK ticketing platform. We know how it sounds.
See how we compare →and yes… it's f**king good.
01 The table
What a ticket actually costs you.
Standard published rates, shown as the total per-ticket fee including VAT where the platform's basis is determinable, worked through on a £10, £50 and £100 ticket. Flat fees first (they don't grow with your ticket price), then the percentage crowd, cheapest first. Only platforms whose rates we could verify from their own published pricing are listed.
| Platform | Published standard rate | £10 ticket | £50 ticket | £100 ticket | vs 25p |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ticket Monkey | 25p flat, including VAT | 25p | 25p | 25p | — |
| Ticket Tailor (pre-paid credits) | 22p, plus VAT, after buying 20,000 credits up front (about £4,400 + VAT) | 26.4p | 26.4p | 26.4p | 1.1× |
| Ticket Tailor (pay-as-you-go) | 60p, plus VAT | 72p | 72p | 72p | 2.9× |
| Citizen Ticket | 3% + 20p, plus VAT | 60p | £2.04 | £3.84 | 2.4× |
| TryBooking | 5% + 15p | 65p | £2.65 | £5.15 | 2.6× |
| TicketSource | 7% + 25p | ~95p | ~£3.75 | ~£7.25 | ~3.8× |
| Fatsoma | 10% (£1 minimum) | £1.00 | £5.00 | £10.00 | 4× |
| Fixr | 4.99% + 49p, plus VAT | £1.19 | ~£3.58 | ~£6.58 | 4.8× |
| Skiddle | 10% + 27p (£1 minimum) | £1.27 | £5.27 | £10.27 | 5.1× |
| Eventbrite | ~6.95% + 59p, plus VAT on the service fee | ~£1.54 | ~£4.88 | ~£9.05 | ~6× |
Rates as published by each platform, accessed 6 July 2026. Where a platform quotes ex-VAT we've shown the VAT-inclusive total; "~" marks figures that depend on rounding or a stated assumption. Card processing (via your own Stripe account on Ticket Monkey) applies on every platform and is excluded throughout, like for like. All trademarks belong to their owners. Spot a rate that's changed? Tell us and we'll correct it.
Sources: every pricing page we checked
Each figure comes from the platform's own published pricing or help-centre page, all accessed 6 July 2026: Ticket Tailor, Eventbrite, Skiddle, Fatsoma, TicketSource, Fixr, TryBooking, Citizen Ticket, WeGotTickets and Ticketlab. We keep the full source list, with URLs and screenshots, on file — ask us and we'll happily share it.
Platforms we checked but left out of the table because their standard rates couldn't be verified to a high confidence from published pricing: Billetto, Eventcube, Universe, Yapsody, DesignMyNight/Tonic, TicketSpice (US-dollar or unclear VAT basis).
02 The ones who won't say
Six platforms don't publish their pricing at all.
Ticketmaster, See Tickets, DICE, Gigantic, Ticket Arena and TicketWeb are quote-only. No rate card, no calculator, no number until you've sat through the sales call. They can't appear in the table above, because nobody can compare them honestly.
If the rate were something to shout about, it'd be on the website.
03 The "free" ones
"Free for organisers" isn't free.
WeGotTickets and Ticketlab charge the organiser nothing, then load the whole fee onto your buyers. At WeGotTickets that's 10% of the ticket price: £1 on a £10 ticket, £5 on a £50 ticket, paid by your fans at a checkout with your event's name on it.
The fee didn't disappear. It moved to the people you most want on side.
On Ticket Monkey the whole platform fee is 25p, and you decide who pays it: absorb it, pass it on, or set your own custom fee and keep the difference.

The fine print, out loud.
Is 25p really everything Ticket Monkey charges?
For self-serve, yes: 25p per ticket, flat, including VAT. Card processing goes through your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard rates (1.5% + 20p for UK domestic cards), paid to Stripe, not to us. Managed is different: it's a full-service product priced as a custom percentage.
Why do you show fees including VAT?
Because that's what actually leaves your pocket. Most platforms quote ex-VAT, which makes their rate look 20% cheaper than it is. Our 25p includes VAT; everywhere a competitor quotes ex-VAT we've added it so the comparison is like for like.
Some platforms are free for organisers. Isn't that cheaper?
The fee doesn't disappear, it moves to your buyers. WeGotTickets charges buyers 10%: £5 on a £50 ticket, at a checkout with your event's name on it. On Ticket Monkey the total fee is 25p and you decide who pays it.
Where do these numbers come from?
Each platform's own published pricing page, accessed 6 July 2026. Platforms that don't publish standard pricing (Ticketmaster, See Tickets, DICE, Gigantic, Ticket Arena, TicketWeb) can't be compared honestly, so they're not in the table. If a rate has changed, tell us and we'll fix it.
